Daily Football/Soccer Analysis for January 2nd 2010!

Good morning in the first Saturday of the New Year!
Things are looking good today! A whole round of FA cup will be played today, as well as some of the lower England Divisions and some of the games from the Spanish Primiera Division!Usually the FA cup is the tournament where you would look for the surprises and the good odds for several reasons!
First, there’s only one game played, so it’s like sudden death, whoever wins the first continues! Second, a lot of the major teams just don’t care enough for that tournament and will go out with the reserves or the youngsters and try out new positions, players and systems!
I will cover some of the FA cup games, with wonderful odds, where the teams actually have a history so you can make a prediction, based on stats and logic, rather than just a lucky guess!
First game I am going to look at is Blackpool v Ipswich 02/01/2010 15:00 GMT! The odds for an away win are @ 3.25! According to the statistic,Ipswich hasn’t lost yet in any of their 5 games versus them. They have three wins and two ties! Their latest victory was at home with 3:1 on December 12th 2009!
Ipswich are in the lower half of the Championship table, so this tournament might be their only chance this year for something more! Blackpool are 8th and would probably try to get something here as well! However I will go with the statistic and bet on the away victory @ 3.25
Next are Huddersfield v West Bromwich 02/01/2010 15:00 GMT! These two have played three times back at 2000-2001 and each of them got a win and a tie. Looking over the performance of West Bromwich, 2nd in Championship, this year and that Huddersfield are in the lower division “League 1″ I don’t think anything else, but an away win would occur here! The odds are good as well @ 2.10
Next are Portsmouth v Coventry 02/01/2010 15:00 GMT! You all know Portsmouth situation right now! They are close to bankrupt and last in Premiership! I don’t think they would actually try anything here, and would primarily focus on staying in the Premiership this year. This would give Coventry a good chance to show what they got and win this one. Both team have played several times around 2001-2003 and Portsmouth has won 2 out of 4 and tied once.
However, the circumstances today are totally different so I would go with the away victory for Coventry @ 4.50!
Here’s a game in the FA cup from the Premiership, Wigan v Hull 02/01/2010 15:00 GMT! Both team are doing horrible this year and both teams have a good chance to be playing in Championship next year! It’s only logical, both teams to focus on surviving in the league, than to go full power in the FA cup. My pick would be a draw game between the two, @ 3.40
Last but not least I find the game between Reading v Liverpool 02/01/2010 17:15 GMT very interesting!Reading used to be in Premiership, in 2008, and they won then their first game against Liverpool with 3:1. The other five games, over the period of four year they lost, but that doesn’t really matter. Liverpool really needs to keep their main players on the bench and focus on the Premiership! I am pretty sure they will go out here with the youngsters and probably loose. The risk/reward ratio for a home win is so good, that I would definitely play this game on my betting slip! Home win for Reading @ 7.00
The games from the Spanish Primiera Division today are:
Valencia v Espanyol 02/01/2010 17:00 GMT
Barcelona v Villarreal 02/01/2010 19:00 GMT
Atletico Madrid v Sevilla 02/01/2010 21:00 GMT
Without going into too much details, usually the rounds after the holidays is where most of the surprising scores occur! Funny enough Valencia and Espanyol have played several time, before and after New Year, around the 31st and the 3rd, and Espanyol has won all games! I would go here for the away victory as strange as that looks @ 6.50!
Since the odds for Barcelona are low, I would go here for the surprise again. My pick would be a tie between he two, having in mind that they finished 3:3 this year on Camp Nou! @ 4.75
Lastly Atletico vs Sevilla! According to the statistics these two have quite a history. Seems like Sevilla is always the team that can get that one goal and go home with the 0:1 away victory. With odds of around @ 2.50 I would stick to that and go with the an away victory!
