I am glad that I waited for today to write my analysis, instead of doing it few days ago.
These Europa League finals changed a lot of priorities for few English teams and would most likely change the outcome of few games.
It’s so warm today, and I feel so sleepy, I even had to change the topic twice, because I kept writing April 1st and I was even thinking about a joke ha ha.
I will skip the Manchester City v Aston Villa game, since I have discussed that in my previous post.
Here’s what we have remaining as games for tomorrow:
Birmingham v Burnley 01/05/2010 12:45 BST
Tottenham v Bolton 01/05/2010 15:00 BST
Stoke v Everton 01/05/2010 15:00 BST
Portsmouth v Wolverhampton 01/05/2010 15:00 BST
As the season is to its end you would see me get into less details in some of the games where the teams probably do not need anything, and as far as they are concerned the season is over.
Birmingham v Burnley: Both teams do not need anything. Birmingham have no chance to get into the “sweet” spots, and Burnley, well Burnley will play in Championship from next year.
Sadly they were doing quite well at home, but managed to get only a single win and a draw away. As for this game, Birmingham hasn’t lost at home since September and they might wanna get a win here ,after loosing to Burnley earlier in the season with 2:1.
Prediction: “Birmingham -home win” Odds: 1.56 Bookmaker: Betfair.com
Tottenham v Bolton: After the incredible games at home against Chelsea, and Arsenal, it would be hard to believe that Tottenham will trip on Bolton, especially with the season so close to an ending and that fight for the 4th spot.
Out of the 9 last visits, Bolton has won only 2 in 2004 and that’s about it. They are securely sitting on the 14th spot and do not really need anything out of this game. Unfortunately for all football punters, and gamblers in general the odds are quite low for a home victory @ 1.28.
I am expecting a solid performance from Tottenham, but I am guessing that they will go for the minimal victory here and save strength for the direct game with Manchester City.
Prediction: “Under 3.5 Goals” Odds: 1.60 Bookmaker: Betfair.com
Stoke v Everton: Two teams sitting around the middle of the table. Everton is in a great shape so far, continuing without a loss for few month already.
Stoke on the other hand, were blown away by Chelsea with 0:7 and generally do bad against Everton. Out of the 4 games they have played, Stoke City has lost 3, 2 at home, and has tied 1.
I would personally go here with the statistics, especially when there’s no pressure in the game, nor any of the teams is aiming for anything but finish off the season.
Prediction: “Everton – away win” Odds: 2.12 Bookmaker: Betfair.com
Portsmouth v Wolverhampton: Sadly for Portsmouth this is the end of the road in Premiership for this year. The only good thing this season for them is that they will be playing a FA Cup final which might get them some self-esteem, that the season wasn’t all lost.
Wolverhampton hasn’t had a success over Portsmouth in 8 years. What I can see from the stats here is that both team fail to score a lot of goal in the direct games most of the time.
Since picking a winner here, would be a hard decision I think I will go with something more rational.
Prediction: “Under 2.5 Goals” Odds: 1.80 Bookmaker: Betfair.com
All odds are as of now, so be sure to get on any of the recommended bookmakers and bet:
