BLAST Austin Major 2025: Teaser from Organizers and What We Know About the Tournament

The highly anticipated CS2 Major by BLAST in 2025 will take place in Austin, much to the delight of American fans. The tournament boasts a $1,250,000 prize pool, equivalent to this year's Major. While tournaments of this caliber are typically announced well in advance, organizers often stoke excitement with teasers and announcements.

According to initial information, 24 teams were expected to participate in the tournament, following the standard official format used in all CS2 Majors. This number of teams ensures a balanced schedule and match format, avoiding overloading the tournament or the participants. However, BLAST recently released a new teaser for the Austin Major 2025, which hinted at some potential changes.

The teaser revealed that the tournament is set to begin on June 2, although previous announcements had stated it would kick off on June 9. This discrepancy led to speculation that the championship might expand to 32 teams, necessitating the addition of another stage to the Major. Both BLAST and Valve quickly responded to this buzz.

As it stands, it seems likely that the tournament will indeed be expanded to 32 teams, incorporating an additional stage. This change is expected to make the event even more exciting and engaging for fans.
