It’s Friday, the weekend is almost here, but why not make some extra cash today for tomorrow and Sunday?
Let’s see what the leagues around Europe offer us and get the best bets out of them.
If there’s one great thing about sports betting is that you can always make some cash no matter how empty the betting market seems in a certain day.
So let’s see what do we have for today in just few hours:
Bundesliga:
FC Cologne v Bochum 16/04/2010 19:30 BST
Bundesliga2:
Greuther Furth v Paderborn 16/04/2010 17:00 BST
Koblenz v Karlsruhe 16/04/2010 17:00 BST
Augsburg v Duisburg 16/04/2010 17:00 BST
Italy Serie A:
Inter v Juventus 16/04/2010 19:45 BST
FC Cologne v Bochum: A battle in the lower part of the Bundesliga table, and while the team of Cologne is securely sitting on the 13th spot with 34pts, you can’t say the same for Bochum.
The team is on the 15 place (out of 18 teams in Bundesliga2) and is only a point ahead of the 16th Hannover. They would really need the 3 points today, in order to move further up and stay in Bundesliga next year as well.
Cologne has a home record of 2 wins 5 draws and 8 losses, while Bochum’s away record is 4 wins 4 draws and 7 losses. Now if you are a fan of the English Premier League, where most teams play well at home, even the ones in the lower half of the table, in Germany is almost the opposite. Most teams, and especially those in the lower end, have a horrible home record and an all right away record.
The past two games between these two teams have ended 0:0 and 1:1, and while the draw is a logical choice today as well, consider the Under 2.5 Goals bet as well.
Last 4 away games for Bochum are 2 draws and 2 losses, last 4 home games for Cologne are also 2 draws and 2 losses. Having in mind that most teams play better away, an away victory will not be surprising at all here as well.
I think in this game the winner will be the team that wants/needs the victory the most. Under these circumstances it seems like the team of Bochum has to get as much points as possible.
Prediction: “Bochum – away victory” Odds: 3.75 Bookmaker: Betfair.com
Greuther Furth v Paderborn: The 8th against the 9th in Bundesliga2 are about to meet. Both teams have an equal amount of points (41), and while they are sure on those spots, neither of them has a chance to advance in Bundesliga next year.
Greuther Furth with a home record of 7 wins 1 draw and 7 losses, shows a little inconsistency at home. It’s either everything, or nothing. Paderborn with an away record of 3 victories 4 draws and 7 losses, has a total of 3 visits against Greuther Furth, where they tied 2 and lost 1.
Paderborn has lost 4 out of the last 5 visits, while Greuther Furth has won 2 home games, tied one and lost 1 from the past 4. Looking at the amount of goals scored in each direct game, a good bet for this match would be Under 2.5 Goals.
Although all bookmakers put Greuther Furth as a favorite, and a home victory is expected and I afraid that the game might end up a tie as before.
Prediction: “Under 2.5 Goals” Odds: 2.24 Bookmaker: Betfair.com
Koblenz v Karlsruhe: Koblenz, a team in the red zone, will try to get the 3 points today, against the team of Karlsruhe. Home record of 5 wins 4 draws and 6 losses seems pretty decent taking in consideration their place in the table. They still have a theoretical chance of getting out of the red zone, and that’s why every game until the end of the season is very important.
Karlsruhe on the other hand, with an away record of 5 wins 2 draws and 8 losses and 38pts, is almost sure to stay in Bundesliga2 next year as well. Last 4 visits, ended with 2 losses, a draw and a win, while Koblenz last home games ended as 2 wins, a draw and a loss.
A 1X2 bet here seems a little bit hard to predict, at least for me, and as every football bettor, looking to place a bet after all I will take another approach. These teams have played a total of 3 games and in each game both teams have scored against each other.
I am sure this will happen today as well, and I am standing behind this prediction.
Prediction: “Both Teams To Score” Odds: 1.72 Bookmaker: Bet365.com
Augsburg v Duisburg: The 3rd in the table, that has a chance to play in Bundesliga next year is meeting one of the teams with the best way record this year.
However the statistics show that Augsburg has achieved in the past 5 games, only 2 draws and 3 losses. They do have a win with 5:0 at home, but that was for the German Cup, and it doesn’t really count.
Duisburg is on the 6th place with 49 points, same amount of points have the 5th and 4th team, so basically speaking they are right behind Augsburg. The difference between the two is 5 points, 4 rounds before the end of the season. Augsburg has 3 wins and a draw from the past 4 home games, while Duisburg has 3 wins and 2 losses in the past 5 away games.
Both Teams To Score, can be a safe bet here, but I will go for something more risky, yet logical, an away win for Duisburg. The team is in such a great shape, especially when visiting teams from the top of the table, and has a real shot to return next year in Bundesliga, especially if they achieve a victory today and make the difference only 2 points.
Prediction: “Duisburg – away win” Odds: 3.65 Bookmaker: Betfair.com
Inter v Juventus : Here’s one of the most anticipated games today. The old rivals meet yet again, however this time, Juventus far from the top spot, barely hanging in the spots for Europa League next year.
Inter with a game next week, against Barcelona at home, will have to save strength if they want to play a final for Champions League. Although looking over the statistics, it seems like usually the team that’s playing at home wins, it’s pretty hard to say which team will win today.
Although Juventus are having a hard time, getting eliminated from Champions League at home from Bayern, and then getting eliminated in Europa League from Fulham, and the unstable performance of the team in the league, that brought them to the 6th place, they should not be underestimated for this game.
I will go here, for a wide open game, with at least a goal from each side, to the point where the score will probably go over 2.5 goals. However knowing Mourinho I think he is gonna go for the title and Champions League at the same time and will go for the victory tonight.
Prediction: “Inter home win” Odds: 1.65 Bookmaker: Betfair.com
