Round 4 of Carling Cup will be played today and tomorrow. Today’s games will be Sunderland v Aston Villa, Portsmouth v Stoke, Barnsley v Manchester United, Tottenham v Everton and Blackburn v Peterborough.
Tomorrow’s games are Chelsea v Bolton, Arsenal v Liverpool and Manchester City v Scunthorpe.
By reading the news on the Carling Cup website it seems that Blackburn has been hit by the swine flu, and few key players will not play.
Suderland’s top scorer Darren Bent has a knee problem and will be missing today as well, when his team takes on Aston Villa.
Tottenham is in a great shape,but will go out against Everton without some of their key players. Those players are Aaron Lennon , Ledley King, Jonathan Woodgate,Jermain Defoe,Niko Kranjcar.
Robinho might make his return tomorrow for Manchester City. He has been out since August after he got an injury.
These games are usually hard to predict, but I find Tottenham being crippled today. With so many starts missing I wonder if Everton will be able to take advantage and get away with a victory. My pick would be a 2, an away victory for Everton. Judging by the statistic their rate in the last years is pretty good vs the Spurs, 2 draws 2 victories in the last 4 games.
With Suderland’s top goalscorer missing and the good shape of Aston Villa, I think that Villa will have all of the advantages tonight and come out victorious. My pick would be a 2, an away victory.
