Hi Folks!

Day 1 of the last group round of Champions League. Whatever happens tonight will leave the first two teams to qualify for the elimination rounds, the third teams will fall to Europa League, and the last teams will just go home. Let’s not waste time since the games will start in about an hour and 15 minutes.

First on my list is the game between Juventus v Bayern Munich. This is probably the match of the night as well. Juventus having 8 points and Bayern with 7 will make this game very very interesting. The winner takes the 2nd place and goes to elimination rounds. The thing is that Juventus will be happy on a draw game as well. As for Bayern, they have nothing to loose. They need the 3 points here and nothing less. This is a very hard game to predict in my opinion. It really depends how it’s going to start and which team will score first and etc. However my pick would be for a tie, since both teams will sure go for the win, but if the first half end a tie, there’s a pretty big chance that Juve will go out the 2nd half looking for the draw. You all know that Italian teams are famous for their defense.

I will skip the game between Maccabi Haifa v Bordeaux, because it’s not important. However just for fun I will predict an away victory for Bordeaux. I believe they would want to get some additional points for pride and glory.

Next on my list is Wolfsburg v Manchester United. Now the funny thing here is that United is with 10pts and Wolfsburg and CSKA Moscow are with 7. I am not certain, but if both teams win today and get to 10pts I am not really sure if their goal ratio is enough to kick United out of the competition. Certainly no one would wanna wait for the goal ratio, so I am pretty sure United will go for the victory tonight. My pick would be an away victory!

The other game from the same group is Besiktas v CSKA Moscow. It’s very hard for all teams to play in Turkey. The crowd is pretty tough. But CSKA has no choice. If they want to continue tonight, especially with Wolfsburg having such a big chance to loose. They would go for the victory or at least the draw. My pick would be an away victory for CSKA.

FC Zurich v AC Milan and Marseille v Real Madrid are in the next group. Now the mess is full here. AC Milan needs to win, to be sure they are going to advance. However a draw or a loss in their game, and a victory for Marseille would mean an elimination and going for Europa League rounds. Another possibility is AC Milan winning tonight, and Marseille winning as well but with at least 4 goals difference to beat Real’s goal ration and advance as well. So it’s pretty tough. My Picks would be a draw in AC Milan’s game and victory for Real Madrid in the 2nd game.

I am not even going to discuss Chelsea v APOEL Nicosia and Atletico Madrid v FC Porto. The qualified teams are Chelsea and Porto. I think two draws in both games would be logical, so that’s my pick.
