Nothing like a cold,foggy Tuesday!
Usually Tuesdays are boring for me, cause there’s nothing interesting to do! However we have few games today, that are quite interesting and should be noticed, discussed and analyzed!
Let’s look at the games,or shall I say the interesting games for today:
Stoke v Fulham 05/01/2010 19:45 GMT – English Premier League
Blackburn v Aston Villa 05/01/2010 20:00 GMT – Carling Cup Semi-Final
Barcelona v Sevilla 05/01/2010 21:00 GMT – Copa Del Rey
Let’s start with the first game on the list, Stoke v Fulham! These two team have played three times against each other, twice in the league, once for the FA cup. Fulham is the team with the better stats, winning two games and tying the third.Things aren’t looking good for Stoke City! They haven’t had a win in the Premier League since November 22nd! On the other hand Fulham, played the last few games quite well. They were pretty disappointed, loosing to Chelsea after leading 0:1 almost the whole game, then letting the victory slip away for 2 minutes. (Drogba 73rd, own goal 75th).
Fulham is currently 9th and would sure like the 3 points that will bring them closer to the major teams. Stoke would want that first victory from almost 2 months now and will go full power! My pick would be a home victory for Stoke City, that’s going to move them right below Fulham, to the 10th spot!
Probably the most anticipated game for tonight is between Blackburn and Aston Villa . Three days ago, Aston Villa beat Blackburn, as a host with 3:1 for the FA Cup! While this is not a factor, it shows that Petrov and company are in great shape this year, and are quite I might say unstoppable! The 6th spot they are taking with just 10 points away from the current leader, speaks for itself as well.
Blackburn is not to be underestimated since, they have proven over the years that they have what it takes to beat Aston Villa. Three home wins out of nine games, might not be a lot, but it’s enough for them to earn some respect! However Aston Villa are the five time winner of Carling Cup! They have tradition and coach Martin O’Neill says:” Winning The Carling Cup With Aston Villa Would Be ‘Fantastic’”
My pick would be an away victory for Villa, and qualifying for the Final!
Last but not least is the game between Barcelona v Sevilla! These two have played twice for Copa Del Rey, both games ended as ties! Whether you would go for one of the two to win or a 3rd consecutive draw, that up to you. Personally I would go for the draw, especially after watching both teams 3 days ago, when Barcelona tied with Espanyol at home, and Sevilla lost vs Atletico away.
Although the bookmakers are giving the game to Barcelona, with the odds of 1.40, I would go for the 4.20 for a draw! After all, the holidays passed recently and most teams are not in top shape still.
If you are worried that you won’t be able to see these games on TV, or that only paid channels are going to show the game, worry no more! You can watch any game for FREE live here
