Great games last night. Scores don’t really represent the actual team that was dominating during the game, but that’s football and that’s why you got to love it.
Today is the 2nd day of Champions league, with what I find, the more interesting games, because the groups are really tied up.
Let’s start with Rubin Kazan v Barcelona. After loosing their last game in Spain, three teams in this group came up to be with 4 points. Three games left including this one, so accumulating points is the main goal of all teams.I am not going to talk about Barcelona’s shape or potential, because you know it already. I personally think Rubin got lucky the last game and Barca probably underestimated them a bit. My prediction would be an away victory for Barcelona.
The second game from this group is as interesting as the one above, Dynamo Kiev v Inter. Inter hasn’t won a game yet and has tied 3 times.They are currently last in the group with 3 points and desperately need to win in order to maintain chances to qualify.Dynamo on the other hand is doing great and is with 4 points. Personally I do think Inter has what it takes to go home with the victory, but I am unsure if they can do it today. My prediction would be a home win for Dynamo.
Next on the list are Lyon v Liverpool. This is probably the most anticipated game of the night. It’s either win or go home for Liverpool, as simple as that. And you know Pool is usually getting lucky in such games or they play extraordinary. I will go here and take the risk, prediction away win for Liverpool.
The next game from the same group is Fiorentina v Debrecen. Nothing to talk about in this game really. Debrecen is the team with 0 points in the group and perhaps will stay that way since they are no match for any of the teams. Fiorentina on the other hand has to win this one since they do need points to keep that 2nd place they have. My prediction for this one is home victory for Fiorentina.
Next are the teams of Standard Liege v Olympiakos. This is the group that I am least familiar with.Seems like Arsenal and Olympiakos are on the top spots and so far are doing fine. Standard Liege did loose in Greece 2:1 and it’s now their turn to show what they can do on home turf. My prediction for this game would be a draw,since both teams would want to win, but they would want more not to loose.
Arsenal v AZ Alkmaar are the 2nd game in the same group. Arsenal being the leader of the group and in great shape, shouldn’t have any problems with AZ Alkmaar who are currently 3rd with 2 points.They did tie the first game in Holland, but they didn’t really show anything impressive. My prediction would be a home victory for Arsenal.
In the last group are the games between Sevilla v VfB Stuttgart and Unirea Urziceni v Rangers. Sevilla going strong so far 3 wins out of 3 games. Their last win was versus Stuttgart but in Germany. I doubt they would have a problem but since they are almost qualified a draw would be as good as a win for them. My prediction for this game is a draw.
Lastly the fairly unknown team of Unirea Urziceni completely smashed Rangers back in Scotland. Now on home turf, I am sure they would try to double their success and keep the 2nd place in the group. Rangers showed nothing that looked promising and I bet they would loose again. My prediction is a home win for Unirea.
