It’s Monday, and the last games from Premier League and Championship are here.
If you had a bad weekend betting wise today is the day to make up for it.
Mondays are usually predictable and can help any bettor out, to finish the week even or with a profit, if the weekend went rough.
So here’s what we have for today:
Manchester City v Wigan 29/03/2010 20:00 BST
Newcastle v Nottingham Forest 29/03/2010 19:45 BST
in addition since we have only two games here, let me throw and extra two from Spanish Primiera and Bundesliga 2:
Athletic Bilbao v Santander 29/03/2010 20:00 BST
Kaiserslautern v 1860 München 29/03/2010 19:15 BST
Manchester City v Wigan: Well last week was horrible for City, as they got their first home loss from Everton with 0:2. Home record of 9 wins 4 draws and 1 loss definitely beats Wigan’s away record of 3 victories 2 draws and 10 losses.
City really needs a victory here if they want to play at least in Europa League next year. With Aston Villa and Everton right behind them, they have no more room for mistakes. A possible victory today will send them up in front of Liverpool, just 2 points away from the 4th Tottenham.
Wigan have lost the last 2 out of 3 away games. The team achieved a home victory against Liverpool, and was able to get above the red zone. They sure need the points as much as City.
A home victory however for Mancini’s team is very possible, but I am not sure if you would be thrilled with the odds of 1.37 in Betfair. A good alternative here would be Under 2.5 Goals @ 2.22 in Betfair, since out of 11 games between these two 8 have ended Under 2.5 Goals, and City’s last 3 home games as well as Wigan’s last 3 away games have ended Under 2.5 Goals.
My Prediction for this game would be Under 2.5 Goals @ 2.22.
Newcastle v Nottingham Forest: The absolute leader Newcastle is playing against the 3rd currently in Championship. The team has a home record of 15 victories 4 draws and 0 losses. The visitors from Nottingham have an away record of 4 wins 9 draws and 6 losses.
A draw game is quite possible here, but wouldn’t favor any of the teams so I am expecting an open game with the ambition for a goal. Nottingham has lost all of their last 5 visits while Newcastle has won all out of their last 4 home games.
A victory for Newcastle is a good choice of bet with odds @ 1.74. An alternative with slightly better odds will be “Both Teams To Score” – 1.94 in Betfair.
My prediction would be a home victory for Newcastle.
Athletic Bilbao v Santander: Both teams have quite a history when it comes to games, between each other. Santander hasn’t won as a guest since 2003 but since then has only two losses out of six games, and the rest is ties.
Seems like Athletic Bilbao has troubles when it comes to getting past Santander. Four draws in a row in home games, were finally followed with a victory last year.
Three points away from Sevilla with a game less Bilbao needs the victory if they want to get in Europa League next year. Home record of 8 victories 2 draws and 3 losses
In the same time Santander is very close to the red zone. They sure need the points and have made quite a surprise tying against Valencia away, and beating Osasuna with 1:3 away.
I think we are about to see a very open game here filled with goals, so my prediction would be “Both Teams To Score” @ 1.86 in Betfair. If you feel like you can trust Bilbao, then a home victory bet would be also a good and logical choice @ 2.06 in Betfair.
Kaiserslautern v 1860 München: The last but not least game for today, that I will review. I feel pretty confident in Germany Bundesliga2 since the games are usually very predictable and profitable.
Currently first Kaiserslautern is probably going to return to German’s elite next year. Home record of 9 victories 3 draws and only 1 loss are showing that the team is outstanding at home. Munchen’s away record of 4 wins 3 ties and 7 losses is also not bad enough for a team in the 7th spot.
A home victory is a logical bet here @ 1.57, but looking over the stats, a great alternative with higher odds would be Under 2.5 Goals @ 2.02.
My prediction for this game would be a home victory for Kaiserslautern securing their lead in front of St. Pauli to 6 points.
All odds are as of now, 12:10 BST so be sure to hurry up and register/login in you favorite bookmaker. If you don’t have an account in Betfair or Bet365, the chances are that you are missing a lot of great odds.
