Group D, where France lost at home, to Belarus, and Bosnia won against Luxembourg away and hence taking the first spot in the group.
After the disappointing performance in the World Cup 2010, is it any surprise that France lost? The whole teams still seems to be in shock after the scandals around the players and the coach. In fact I think, team is a very strong word at the moment for France. They do have traditions in football indeed, but right now they are on their way to the bottom, and only radical changes might get them out of there.
Bosnia on the other hand has improved a lot in the past years. They managed to get to Play-offs for WC 2010, but 2 losses against Portugal with the minimal 1:0 1:0, stopped them on their way for the finals.
Now starting off with a win against the outsider of the groups has pumped them up for sure, and they would wanna get the 3 points against the “favorite” of the group as well.
A great problem for France would be going out without forwards Guillaume Hoarau, Loïc Rémy and Louis Saha. Perhaps the only good news is that Karim Benzema is available to play.
Bosnia and Herzegovina’s record against France in those two games reads W0 D1 L1 (W0 D0 L1 at home). Both games were friendlies and were back in 2004 and 2006. A lot has changed since them, and tonight’s game will show it.
What to expect from this match?
I am not a fan of France, nor I have any repulsing feelings for them, BUT and that’s a capital B, France is not what it used to be. In fact, the “team” is hardly a team since it’s ripped apart with scandals, and problems which reflect on the game as well.
Although the bookmakers state otherwise i think Bosnia is the favorite for this match and they will come out and dominate in the game.
The Betting Verdict?
Bosnia to win @ 2.86 (Register at Betfair.com – 25£ Sign up Bonus): The home advantage, and the horrible shape of France, are all pointing out that this game has a greater chance to be a home win than anything else. Taking into account the great odds, I think this is your best bet for tonight.
