The surprised has happened, last night, Barcelona was knocked out from Champions League.

The bet I offered was Barcelona -1.0, which in this case is semi-right, you do not win anything, but you get your stake refunded.

This is actually a pretty cool bet, on whole goals, because as football punter you will be looking for the logical.

And if the logical happens, like say Barcelona scored 2 goals last night, you would have won.

Well with this bet, you can always go a goal less than what’s expected, and secure yourself that if things go wrong, your money will be refunded.

But enough about it, let’s focus on Europa League’s games tonight, and what cool bets we can stake at.

Liverpool v Atletico Madrid 29/04/2010 20:05 BST
Fulham v Hamburger SV 29/04/2010 20:05 BST

Liverpool v Atletico Madrid: As expected Atletico Madrid won the first match at home, not because they played so well, but Liverpool, well SUCKS this year in away games. They have failed in the away matches against Lille, and Benfica, and Atletico. However they have been able to come strong at home both times, would there be a third?

A big problem for Liverpool is the missing Fernando Torres, but Benitez has enough quality players to pull this one off. I the same time, Atletico has reached this phase of the tournament after 4 consecutive draw games , and will qualify to the final if they achieve the same result tonight.

I personally think this game can go either way, although the bookmakers favor Liverpool, seems too much of a risk. However if you are determined to bet on them, bet in Betfair
where the odds are 1.63 for a home win.

Personally I think we are about to see more goals from the first game, due to the fact that Liverpool needs 2 goals to advance, and Atletico will probably try to score as well to make things easier.

Prediction: “Over 2.5 Goals”    Odds: 1.92    Bookmaker: Betfair.com

Fulham v Hamburger SV: After a 0:0 in the first game, Hamburger’s chances of qualifying to the final are slightly lowered. Although the 0:0 is a double edge sword, since a goal tonight in England will automatically mean that Fulham will have to score 2, we can’t deny Fulham has been playing quite well at home in LE this year.

The season in Premier League is almost over, they are taking the 12 spot, and this Final is everything they are looking for. In the same time Hamburger is taking the 7th spot in Bundesliga, and since the Final will be played on their stadium, they have every reason to be pumped up for tonight’s game and determined to qualify. Loosing this weekend against Hoffenheim with 1:5 proves that the Germans are focused only on this game.

I am expecting both teams to go for the goals since the first minute, an open and clean game, where we could see both sides scoring.

Prediction: “Both Teams To Score”    Odds: 1.90    Bookmaker: Betfair.com
