After great games last night again in the Champions League, comes the resume of Europa League (the former Uefa Cup).
The games last night seemed predictable, since I got them both correct, however the way they ended was pretty funny.
Porto was able to score a goal that can only laugh at ha ha, no matter how many times I watch the replay.
Bayern being a total favorite, experienced a lot of difficulties beating Fiorentina, and luckily scoring in the 90th minute.
Now the games that are available to us today are:
Rubin Kazan v Hapoel Tel Aviv 18/02/2010 14:00 GMT
Lille v Fenerbahce 18/02/2010 18:00 GMT
Twente v Werder Bremen 18/02/2010 18:00 GMT
Villarreal v Wolfsburg 18/02/2010 18:00 GMT
Standard Liege v Salzburg 18/02/2010 18:00 GMT
Club Bruges v Valencia 18/02/2010 18:00 GMT
Ajax v Juventus 18/02/2010 18:00 GMT
FC Copenhagen v Marseille 18/02/2010 20:05 GMT
Hertha Berlin v Benfica 18/02/2010 20:05 GMT
Hamburger SV v PSV Eindhoven 18/02/2010 20:05 GMT
Fulham v Shakhtar Donetsk 18/02/2010 20:05 GMT
Liverpool v Unirea Urziceni 18/02/2010 20:05 GMT
Atletico Madrid v Galatasaray 18/02/2010 20:05 GMT
Panathinaikos v Roma 18/02/2010 20:05 GMT
Athletic Bilbao v Anderlecht 18/02/2010 20:05 GMT
Now I will not go over all of them, but will take out some of the more interesting ones. Of course the game of the night Ajax v Juventus !
Both teams having close odds for a win, means that the game can go either way. However Ajax, seems to be in a pretty good shape looking over the games from Eredivisie. They got to this stage of the tournament after some great games, although they lost the last game versus Anderlecht with 1:3.
Juventus got here, after a horrible home loss from Bayern Munich and got knocked out of Champions League to land here. On the 14th they got their first victory in Serie A over Genoa with 3:2 after a period over 3 weeks of just ties and losses.
My prediction here would be a home win for Ajax, because clearly Juventus isn’t what it used to be at least this year. Odds in Betfair @ 2.64
Panathinaikos v Roma : No history between these two team, so we can’t really get anything out of the stats. Current shapes seem obvious, Panathinaikos having a mixed experience from wins to draws to losses. Roma on the other hand has won every single games since New Year.
The team is in a great shape, and I expect to finish its job here and not wait and hope for the 2nd games. My Prediction an away victory for Roma odds @ 2.56 in Betfair.
The last game I picked to discuss is Fulham v Shakhtar Donetsk: Fulham picking the pace this year having an outstanding 3 wins out of their last 3 home games. However you can’t really compare the games from Europa League with the ones from the EPL and FA cup.
Shakhtar Donetsk is the 2009 winner of the tournament. They would sure want to double their success and so far they are on the right track.Lead by their captain Darijo Srna I think they have a pretty good shot against Fulham tonight.
My predictions would be an away victory for Shakhtar Donetsk with odds of 2.80 in Betfair.
Be sure to check my Football Picks page as well, with some “safer” picks from tonight’s games. Thank you for visiting and have a great day.

Don’t you find it kinda risky? Liverpool’s shape sucks this year, and the odds for a win aren’t that big
Benitez’s last hope of trophy is on Europa League. Although Liverpool are leading by 1-0 but the risk is there travel to Romania because the gap is small.
To secure his head from being axed, Rafa must make sure the Red to qualify. Torres’s return should leads Liverpool to seal a victory.
