After a great day of English Premier Football, we are ready to check out the games for tomorrow! But let’s review quick what has happened today. First again a hard victory for Liverpool. They seem to have gotten the three points today, but play style was again unsatisfying.
I was hoping for a draw but eh, well my prediction was wrong!
United as I was expecting won convincingly with 5:0, but the odds were so low the games wasn’t even worth betting on. Anyways this one I got right!
Stoke also showed us stability winning over Blackburn with 3:0. Again no surprise here and I got this one correct as well.
Sunderland and Wigan finished with the score of 1:1! I was expecting more from Sunderland, and predicted a home win and got it wrong!
Burnley continues to build points on home turf winning over West Ham with 2:1.
Bolton and Fulham ended up 0:0, a draw just as I expected!
Hull City was able to get some precious 3 points to move from that red zone beating City with 2:1. I wasn’t expecting such low performance from City and was expecting a draw!
Tottenham and Villa as I said in my analysis last night had to go for the win. A possible draw, that turned out eventually kind of opened the doors for Liverpool, sending them on the 4th spot, leaving Tottenham Villa and City behind.
So now let’s look at the games for Sunday February 7th 2010:
Birmingham v Wolverhampton 07/02/2010 13:30 GMT
Chelsea v Arsenal 07/02/2010 16:00 GMT
Birmingham v Wolverhampton: Birmingham was doing until recently quite well at home. However a lot of late goals brought their home record to 5 wins 5 draws and 2 losses. Their opponent Wolverhampton is currently second to the last before this game and needs points badly. Their away record is 2 wins 3 draws and 6 losses.
Both teams have played numerous times in Championship and three times in Premier League. The most recent game was in November 2009 when Birmingham was visiting and won with 0:1. Birmingham was able to tie at home Tottenham,Chelsea and United, which speaks how well the team defends and plays. My prediction for this game would be a home win for Birmingham, and Under 2.5 Goals
Chelsea v Arsenal: This is the game that everyone has been talking about for the past week. If Chelsea would want to stay in the lead, they would have to win this one for sure, otherwise United is taking the lead with a point more. Last 2 most recent games finished horribly for Arsenal, even on home turf, loosing with 0:3 and 1:4.
Chelsea has been loosing points when visiting, but when it comes to home games they are superb. Out of the last 5 home games they have won all 5. They hold the best home record currently in Premier League 11 wins 1 draw 0 losses, compared to United’s 11 wins 1 draw and 1 loss.
Arsenal on the other hand will be looking for a revenge. This is the derby of London so be sure we will see both teams go at each other. Arsenal’s away record is just as good as Chelsea’s 6 wins 3 draws and 3 losses. Personally I am looking forward this game with great anticipation.
My prediction is a home victory for Chelsea, based on their sick home record, past victories over Arsenal with 3 goals difference, and their urge to get on the first spot.
