After a great first day for the mid-week round we are up for day2. Without wasting time let’s look at the games for today:
Arsenal v Liverpool 10/02/2010 19:45 GMT
West Ham v Birmingham 10/02/2010 19:45 GMT
Wolverhampton v Tottenham 10/02/2010 19:45 GMT
Aston Villa v Manchester United 10/02/2010 19:45 GMT
Blackburn v Hull 10/02/2010 20:00 GMT
Everton v Chelsea 10/02/2010 20:00 GMT
Very very interesting games as you can see, all of the Top4 teams playing today, some of the directly.
Arsenal v Liverpool: Probably the most interesting game for tonight. These two teams have tied 5 out of the last 8 games. But a tie today, sure doesn’t do any good for any of the both teams that need the 3 points. This is actually somewhat a direct battle for the 3rd spot or so it seems.
Arsenal with a home record of 9 wins 1 draw and two losses, one of which happened last week against Manchester United. In the beginning of the year a lot of experts said that Arsenal has a shot at the title, but most of them are skeptical now.
Liverpool has won both of their last games, but remains unconvincing. However this is a derby and I am sure both teams will put up a fight. Liverpool with an away record of 4 wins 3 draws and 5 losses.
My prediction would be a home victory for Arsenal, trusting the stats, and Arsenal’s will to keep having chances for the title.
West Ham v Birmingham: Both teams have played few games and according to the stats West Ham has the advantage. But being in the red zone with a home record of 3 wins 4 draws and 4 losses sure doesn’t seem so.
Birmingham on the other hand is on the 8th spot with real chances to get a piece of an upper spot and qualify for Europa league next year. Away record of 4 wins 2 draw games and 5 losses is something they need to work on.
My prediction for this game would be a tie.
Wolverhampton v Tottenham: Three games between the two, two victories for Tottenham and one for the Wolves. In fact the Wolves won the last game in December 2009, with a single goal. Wolverhampton is struggling this year, being 2nd to the last, with a home record of 3 wins 3 draws and 6 losses.
Tottenham has a direct shot today for the 4th spot if Liverpool fails to win. Sure this is something they are looking to, and will put up an effort to reach it. An away record of 4 wins 5 draws and 3 losses.
My prediction would be an away victory for Tottenham.
Aston Villa v Manchester United : The second most interesting game for the night probably. Villa was able to steal the three points on Old Trafford, but can they manage to do that again today. With a home record of 6 wins 4 draws and 2 losses they sure seem not as convincingly good as the other teams ahead of them.
United with an away record of 7 wins 1 draw and 4 losses will need a victory today, and perhaps hoping for Chelsea to trip and get on the first spot. Looking over the statistics you might find it interesting that Villa hasn’t beaten United at home in the past 10 years . Out of 10 games they have 9 losses and a draw.
My prediction would be an away victory for Manchester United.
Blackburn v Hull: Blackburn with a home record of 6 wins 4 draws and 2 losses, solely depending on home games, because of their horrible away record. Doing great the last two home games winning over Fulham and Wigan.
Hull with a brilliant home win against Manchester City, might have the ambitions for something good as well today. However their away record strikes us with doubts whether they will be about to achieve it: 0 wins 4 ties and 8 losses. A point out of this game will be good as well, just as long as they keep on moving away from that red zone.
My prediction would be a draw game.
Everton v Chelsea: Both teams have a long history, and it seems like Everton is always a great host and brings a lot of trouble to the current leader Chelsea. Earlier this year, they were able to get a point out of their visit in London, can they achieve something similar today?
With a home record of 5 wins 5 draw games and 2 losses, being able to beat Man City,Sunderland,Burnley and a tie against Birmingham, sure shows that Everton is in a better shape than they started.
Chelsea sure has difficulties when playing away. 3 draw games and one win in the last minutes, from their last 4 visits and away record of 6 wins 3 draws and 3 losses.
A possible draw today might jeopardize their lead, so winning is a must.
My prediction would be an away victory for Chelsea.
Today’s games sure seem a lot harder to predict than last nights, but let’s hope first for wonderful matches and then for correct predictions
. Thanks for visiting and have a wonderful day.
