Welcome to EGamersWorld.
The bouts of the LEC Winter Split are heating up. And we continue to watch the action in the opening split of LoL's competitive season 15.
One of the matches of the final day is a match between KOI and Vitality. The match will take place on the 20th of January at 19:30 CET.
We are trying to find out who will be stronger in the Vitality - KOI match and which team will finish the first week with an extra win.
Let's go.
Vitality Form
We open the Vitality vs KOI match with an analysis of Vitality's form. In this match they will play the number one with odds to win at around 1.6.
Vitality started last season by competing at the LEC Winter 2023. In the regular season, Vitality went over the heads of their opponents: they played it 7-2 and then went to play the group stage, where they had much less luck. So much so that Vitality failed to get out of their basket, Ledgeiv SK Gaming and KOI. As a result, the top 5.
Next up was an appearance at LEC Spring 2024. This was Vitality's best split where they managed to make it to the top 3. However, that was enough for exactly nothing: just Top 3.
The last tournament last season for Vitality was LEC Summer 2023. And it was a total fiasco: Vitality had their worst performance of the year, going 1-8 in the regular season and finishing the split in the top 10.
- Vitality lineup: Naak Nako, Lyncas, Czajek, Carzyy, Hylissang.
The team has a pretty strong lineup, but the realisation is Vitality's kryptonite.
In the first match of LEC Winter 2024, Team Vitality will play against GIANTX, where I see problems for the Bees. I think EXCEL's peppy core will give Vitality a boost. And so it happened. And two more defeats later, against Fnatic and Team BDS.
Vitality were actually pleasantly surprised. After Long Sogpeg 0-3, the "bees" managed to comeback to score 4-5, thus making it to the next stage of the tournament.
In the first round of the LEC Winter 2024 play-offs Vitality played against SK Gaming. Surprisingly, the French were very convincing and closed the series with a score of 2-0. However, things were not so rosy after that, as Vitality played a derby against BDS, which ended with a super confident victory of the latter. The next match was the last one for Vitality in LEC Winter 2024. They played it against MAD Lions KOI and lost with a score of 0-2.
At the end of LEC Winter 2024 Vitality were ranked in the top 6. In the spring split Vitality performed much better and made it to the top 4. In the summer 2024 Vitality clearly failed to do well, finishing in the top 9 and thus failing to make it to Worlds 2024.
The first test for Vitality at LEC Winter 2025 will be a match against BDS. Next will be a match against Fnatic.
Vitality's most popular champions
The most frequent guest on the top line is Jax (2 matches, 100% wins). Also picked were KSante, Gnar, Gwen and Ornn, Renekton and Gragas. Ornn and Renekton lost their matches, not quite hitting the season 13 meta.
Bo predominantly played as Vi. One of the most meta characters of the season appeared in spades 4 times and won all his games. There was also Sejuani and Maokai (2 games and 1 win each).
On the centre line, Azir was the favourite character (3 games, 100% wins). The Croatian also played Ryze, Syndra, Cassiopeia, Tristana, LeBlanc and Taliyah. Only Tristana and LeBlanc lost.
Of the shooters, Zeri (3 games, 66% wins), Ezreal (2 matches, 100% wins), Varus (2 games, 100% wins) appeared most often. Caitlyn and Sivir peaked once each: the former won her game and the latter lost.
Of the supporting characters, Yummi (3 games, 33% wins), Ashe (2 games, 100% wins) played three times. Leona, Braum, Nami and Lux won once each.
KOI Form
We continue the analysis of KOI - Vitality match with the analysis of KOI form. Here the French club is the number two with odds to win at around 1.9.
KOI has been "inside" the LEC ecosystem for a long time and either qualify for the main tournament, i.e. LEC, or fall out of it. So, for example, last season KOI was actually MAD Lions. If we talk about KOI as a separate organisation, then everything is quite modest there.
- KOI roster: Myrwyn, Elyoya, Jojopyun, Supa, Alvaro.
In the 2023 season, KOI participated in the LEC. They didn't have much success. After a top performance at LEC Winter 2023, where KOI finished top 3, they were top 6 and top 8 at LEC Spring 2023 and LEC Summer 2023 respectively. However, KOI's roster is pretty fighting, as the core of MAD Lions remained, and they were once a pretty strong competitor for G2 and Fnatic level tops.
In the first match of LEC Winter 2025 KOI will play against Fnatic. The next match will be against Karmine Corp.
The most popular MAD Lions champions
Fiora (2 matches, 100% wins) and K'Sante (2 matches, 50% wins) appeared in the top of MAD Lions most often. Renekton (1 game, 100% wins) and Gnar (1 game and that defeat) were also taken.
Sejuani (3 matches, 66% wins) is popular in the forest. Next is Wukong with 2 appearances and 50% wins, and there was also Maokai who won his only match.
On the centre line, Viktor (1-1) and Akali (1-1) have 2 matches each. Azir and Sylas won their matches.
Among shooters Varus appeared most often (3 matches, 66% of wins). Lucian was picked 2 times (1-1) and Sivir was picked once more (1-0).
Thresh (1-1), Lulu (1-1) were picked more often than others. Nami and Ashe, who appeared 1 time each, won their matches.
History of head-to-head meetings between Vitality and KOI
The teams have not played each other in the 2024 season.
Predicted result of KOI - Vitality match at LEC Winter 2025
Among this pair it is quite difficult to name a winner. As for me, both teams are somewhere on the same level in terms of teamwork and personal skillet of the players and if there were bo3, I would bet on full 3 maps, but here we have bo1, so we have to pick a winner. Let it be KOI.
Bottom line: KOI wins.
