Manchester United
Manchester United gathered 6 points in the first 2 rounds and is in a wonderful shape. The team however takes the second spot because Manchester City has scored more goals and has a better goal difference. United managed to win an away game against West Bromwich the first round and easily won here on Old Trafford against Tottenham in round 2. Van der sar’s replacement David de Gea, has still trouble on the goal, making silly mistakes. In the game with Tottenham the goalkeeper even afford to trick Van der vaart something that’s not very wise to do.
Arsenal
Arsenal are currently 14th in the table after first two rounds, drawing the first match against Newcastle and losing the home game to Liverpool. With the leaving of Fabregas and Nasri, the team has become awfully weak. However the team managed to get to the Champions League groups, after a victory over Udinese with 2:1 on Wednesday August 24th. Wenger seriously needs to make some transfers before the window closes or this can end up being another fail season, like last one. A final lost to Birmingham for Carling Cup, elimination from Barcelona in Champions League, and getting thrown out of the third spot in the league.
Prediction
While this is one of the most anticipated games of the evening, I doubt Arsenal have anything to offer here, considering United’s current shape. The result on Old Trafford also speak a lot:
