Manchester United
United started the season well with a victory over West Bromwich, final score of 2:1. The team had also won the Community Shield game 2 weeks ago, against Manchester City, after losing 0:2 on half-time and managed to reverse the score to 3:2. United made a few transfers this summer: Phil Jones, David de Gea, Ashley Young. De Gea seems to be adjusting to the English football, and despite some of his mistakes he is a brilliant goalkeeper. Ashley Young has fit very well in the team, and now Manchester United’s attacks have a lot more speed. A victory here will mean top spot (unless Bolton or City win and gather up 6 points) which is a 2 point lead already to the rest of the teams most of which got 4 points (Aston Villa, Chelsea, Newcastle and Liverpool).
Tottenham
Tottenham missed the first round because of the riots in London, but the team is ready for round 2, a visit on Old Trafford. The team played earlier this week an Europa League play-off qualification against the team of Hearts, an away victory with the score of 5:0 will definitely get the Spurs to play in the group stage of the tournament. The pre-season matches started rough with a loss and a draw, but followed by 3 victories. Two transfers so far : Souleymane Coulibaly and Brad Friedel. After Gomez mistakes last season is it a surprise, Tottenham acquired Friedel?
Prediction
I think this is the game with which you can make some money, if you didn’t get a chance to, on the weekend. Sportsbooks give United the odds of 1.66 to win (bet365) while the draw is at 3.75 and the away victory at 5.50 (bet365). Profitable numbers but very unlikely to come out true. Why?
