The battle of Manchester is on for tonight at 20:00 GMT. Although a lot has been said over the past days, and a lot more can definitely be written this game can end either way.
First I think it’s time to stop with the trash talk. Gary Neville spiced things a little bit when in an interview he said that City does not deserve to be leading before tonight’s game, because United did better, and that they will definitely continue to the next round.
I personally did not see how United played better, perhaps if the overall ball possession and the shots on target counted towards to goals scored, we could say that they were better, but this game is solely dependent on goals and goals only.
United clearly has defense problems and offensive problems such as scoring when they need to. City on the other half, seem to have defense problems as well, but their offense with Tevez leasing seems much more dangerous. Although now that Rooney is in charge of the attack, we have certainly seen games where he is successfully blocked and can’t do much during the whole game.
United owes the victory to their fans tonight, and should go for the win, that’s for sure. City might be happy even with a draw tonight and continue to the final where one of the two will meet Villa. The question is which team will find the right tactic tonight.
I still have my doubts for Mancini’s abilities as a coach, and we have seen the prove in the loss against Everton with 2:0. I will go with the stats here and predict a victory for Manchester United with 2 goals difference.
