The game that all bettors are looking for tomorrow evening. It’s quite a shame that it couldn’t be at later time to pour it with a beer as well :) .

Some quick basic facts about the two teams as a start, before we get into the betting analysis.

Netherlands got to this stage rather easy. Winning all three games in the group put them on top. A victory against Denmark with 2:1, a victory over Japan with 1:0 and a victory over Cameroon with 2:1.

Robben is building up play-time and the very best of him is still ahead to be seen. In the Round of 16, Netherlands were lucky to meet the debutant Slovakia, which they easily eliminated, but seems like they are paying for the easiness with the perhaps toughest opponent of them all Brazil.

Brazil also didn’t run into problems in the group stage. After a moderate win against North Korea with 2:1, came the outstanding victory over Ivory Coast with 3:1. Being already qualified, made Dunga pull out few starters and Brazil didn’t put a lot of effort in their last game, resulting to a 0:0 with Portugal.

In the round of 16 Brazil, the team of Chile, which was the better option compared to the team of Spain. No problems at all for them and a victory with 3:0.

What’s expected to happen?

Both teams will come out with “a mirror” formation, meaning they both use the same formation 4-2-3-1. There’s no doubt this is a 3-way game from the bettors point of view. You can’t really put a finger on one of the teams and state “this one will win for sure”. Both teams got quality players, individuals that can turn the outcome of the game.

So what’s good to bet on here? Both teams play an offensive football. I can’t imagine any of those teams to accept the game in their half, waiting for the other to attack and depend on counter attacks. Instead I expect a quick pace game, full of attacks and hopefully goals.

Brazil is the favorite here for few key reasons! One, no European team has won the World Cup outside of Europe, Second, Brazil is the team that has won the cup on all continents that has ever been hosted one. Third, they are the team with the most cups.

The Betting Verdict?

Brazil -wins @ 1.97(Betfair.com): This seems like a valuable bet, having in mind that Brazil has played on ALL World Cups, and have won 5 cups. Looking over their current shape seems almost as in impossible to be stopped. Certainly Netherlands has the potential to mess up our betting plans, due to the fact that the game can end up a draw and Brazil can still advance via penalties. However I find the risk-reward ratio, quite good here.

Over 2.5 Goals @ 2.38 (Betfair.com): Seems like the bookmakers are expecting both teams to hold back and wait for the right moment, but this just isn’t the style both teams have. While both teams have great offensive lines, we did see some problems in their defense in few of the games, which makes me think we would see plenty of goals here.
