Slovenia v England Betting Preview 2010-06-23

The final game from Group C between Slovenia and England.

A group where everyone expected England to be the leader and easily qualify, but here we are waiting for the last match, where Slovenia takes the first spot with 4 points, while England is 3rd with 2 points.

The victory here is a must or Capello and his team will be going home early.

The two teams have played earlier before in 2009 in a friendly game where England won with 2:1 at home. However what we see here is a different Slovenia. After starting extremely well against Algeria, and winning the three points, Slovenia was close to beating USA as well, but they started slacking in the second half and got punished for that.

At the very end they even got lucky not loosing the game when a goal was for USA wasn’t counted by the referee apparently for a fall, which didn’t exist to be honest.

Nigeria v South Korea Betting Preview 2010-06-22

A very interesting game that will decide the out come of the group. Both teams have chances to qualify, but both depend on the other game in the group as well.

So far Nigeria has failed to accumulate points and has the lowest chance of qualifying. The victory here is a must for them, or it’s over and they go home.

After starting well against Argentina, and showing coordination and ambition to attack, they have misreably failed in the second around against Greence.

On the other hand South Korea was able to start well against Greece, but lost from the current leader in the group Argentina, a game that was neck to neck during the first half.

If they want to be sure that they will qualify, they must win. There’s a possibility to qualify if they tie, but then the other game from the group will also matter.

So what’s to expect from this match?

South Africa v France Betting Preview 2010-06-22

In the last game of the group stage, the Winner from 1998 France will step up to the host of the finals South Africa.

This game can be called the game of hope, where even if on of the teams wins, the goals difference and the outcome of the other game would matter as well.

It’s no secret to anyone about the huge scandal in the French team and how bad it will affect their performance for this game. Nicolas Anelka was sent home, after he allegedly swore at coach Raymond Domenech, but refused to apologize later.

What’s even more interesting is how the media found out hours after this has happened. Arsenal defender William Gallas displayed his middle finger to a TV reporter after the Mexico game. He was upset that Patrice Evra has been made a captain.

Meanwhile Patrice Evra was involved in a fight with the team fitness coach Robert Duverne which led to the resignation of the team director.

Whether this information is true, or some sort of media trick for everybody to cry out how weak France is, we can’t be really sure. However without Anelka the team will surely miss a lot.
