Portugal had a good control over the ball in the first match, but the accuracy of their shots was a bit disappointing and the team did not manage to score any of the created opportunities. Of course Paolo Bento and the team are looking forward to this match, and hope to win it, and secure their place in Euro 2012. Portugal got in the play-off stage, after losing their last qualification game against Denmark, and therefore stepping down from the top spot. The first play-off on Friday, showed that Portugal has great players, good team play, but lack of focus prevents them scoring. Another thing that really stood out was the many individual attempts to score a goal, when teammates were wide open and waiting for a pass.
Bosnia-Herzegovina
Bosnia-Herzegovina, managed to finish the first play-off without conceding any goals, which in a way might make this game easier, if the team manages to score first. Let’s not forget that in their last qualification game for Euro 2012, Bosnia had to face France and opened the score with 1:0 and lead through the whole first half and part of the second. However the end result was 1:1, which helped France keep their first spot, and send Bosnia to play-offs. Tonight however a 1:1 result will be more than welcome for the team, because of the away goal advantage. Good opportunities in the first game, where Bosnia came twice one on one with the goalkeeper, but the pressure made the players shoot wide off target. These chances will be rare in the second game, so if Bosnia want to get to Euro 2012, they would need to convert those into goals.
