Chelsea are strong favourites to get the win at the weekend and Unibet offer them at 2/5 for the win while QPR are 7/1 and a draw priced at 13/4.

Andres Villas-Boas said recently that he would have to deliver some top-honours to Stamford Bridge to be deemed a success. He does have a hard task on his hands with the increased competition in the Premier League from Manchester City and Barcelona such a force in Europe, but he is creating a competitive team at Chelsea. He had a lot of work to do when he came to the club as the squad was aging and young players had not been given chance to challenge for a place in the side. He has certainly freshened up the approach at the club and the side seems rejuvenated and playing with real purpose and confidence.

Players such as Frank Lampard and Fernando Torres who were under-performing last season are now thriving under Villas-Boas. Lampard recently scored a hat-trick against Bolton while Torres bagged two against Genk in the Champions League midweek.

This Chelsea side are far from the finished article but they look like they are getting stronger and improving each week and they will be challenging for the top silverware by the end of the season.

QPR have had their own transformation at their club recently with a new owner coming in but they have had a mixed experience so far. New players brought to the club have certainly improved the side but results haven’t really gone QPR’s way and they have two draws at home and a 6-0 loss away to Fulham in their last three Premier League game. It still isn’t time for QPR to panic because they are still picking up points and there are worse teams out there in the league than them who will be relegation fodder this season.
