Both Reading and Swansea deserve to get in the Premier League next season, unfortunately only one will after the final on Monday May 30th. Reading hasn’t achieved a victory over Swansea in over 3 years, but will need one here to get back again in top flight, after getting relegated in 2009.
Reading
Reading started the season clumsy, sitting around the 14th spot in the first 10 rounds of the season.Afterwards however, the team managed to improve their performance. Since round 15th, Reading entered top 6 and stood there until the end of the season. Qualified for a play-off where they met Cardiff and after a 0:0 at home, everyone expected Reading to be eliminated. However the team showed character and won the away match in Wales with 3:0. After eliminated one Welsh team, Reading has the task to eliminate another.
Swansea
Swansea managed to finish the season third, and can get in history as the first Welsh team in Premier League. Swansea managed to beat Reading both games this season with the score of 1:0. Their last defeat from that team was back in 2008 with 0:4. In the play-off Swansea met Nottingham Forest. After being left with 10 men in the second minute of the first game, Swansea not only managed to save its net from a goal, but had a chance to even win the match. The fixture ended 0:0, and the return match at home was no problem, won with 3:1.
Prediction
As every final on Wembley, the match is supposed to be very interesting and a bit unpredictable. Reading’s record again Swansea at home is W2 D2 L1, away W2 D1 L2. However the team hasn’t had a victory over their Welsh opponents since 2008. Swansea has been great this year, showed what they are capable of in the games against Nottingham Forest and will try to get in Premier League.
My prediction for this match would be Reading to win. Reading have already been in top flight few years ago, and know exactly what it feels like to be there. I am counting on their experience. Good luck betting.
