The final game from Group C between Slovenia and England.
A group where everyone expected England to be the leader and easily qualify, but here we are waiting for the last match, where Slovenia takes the first spot with 4 points, while England is 3rd with 2 points.
The victory here is a must or Capello and his team will be going home early.
The two teams have played earlier before in 2009 in a friendly game where England won with 2:1 at home. However what we see here is a different Slovenia. After starting extremely well against Algeria, and winning the three points, Slovenia was close to beating USA as well, but they started slacking in the second half and got punished for that.
At the very end they even got lucky not loosing the game when a goal was for USA wasn’t counted by the referee apparently for a fall, which didn’t exist to be honest.
Meanwhile, England played a good game against USA, but a mistake from the goalkeeper Robert Green, equalized the score. However, the fans reacted aggressively after the second game against Algeria bored us to death. Literally, the English team did not do anything rememberable nor interesting, and the fans have all rights to be angry.
So what’s to expect from this game?
England is on the edge and has no choice. They have to play very aggressively and go for the goal from the beginning. In fact if they wanna top the group they will have to put an effort to win here with a difference.
Expecting Slovenia to do the same, since a possible loss, and a win for USA in the other came will throw them out of the groups. I expect an interesting clash worth watching.
