We continue to follow the action at LEC Winter 2025. In case you've forgotten, this is the European title tournament where 10 clubs will play for the Winter Split Champions Cup.
Among the contenders for the play-offs are Team Heretics and SK Gaming. They will play each other in the second face-to-face match of the winter split.
We are trying to find out who of the pair Team Heretics - SK Gaming will be stronger and earn important points ahead of the distribution of places in the championship play-offs.

Let's open the analysis of Heretics vs SK Gaming match with an analysis of Heretics' game form. In this match they will play as favourites with odds to win at around 1.7.
Heretics have been in the LEC structure since 2022. In their "debut" season Team Heretics played on the TIR-2 stage, more specifically in Superliga Summer 2022 (Top 1), European Masters Summer 2022 (Top 1) and Iberian Cup 2022, where they finished Top 2.

In the next round of the LEC draw, Team Heretics performed their best as an affiliate team. They took the top 4 at LEC Summer 2023, Ledge and Fnatic in a battle for the top 3. Heretics secured $5,512 by finishing in the top 4.

After a series of bad performances last year, Heretics changed their roster by signing top European players. Let's see how they will do against the strongest representatives of the region.
The group stage of LEC Winter 2024 was not so good. The team was quite brisk in the group stage, but later slipped to 4-5.
Going into the play-offs Heretics faced BDS - the best team of the group stage of LEC Winter 2024. The French club fully justified their status by winning 2-0 and Heretics travelled to the bottom of the group stage.
The LEC Winter 2024 play-offs did not last long. Heretics defeated SK Gaming 1-2 in the first match of the main stage, leaving the championship at the TOP-8 stage.
At the end of the LEC Spring 2024 regular season Heretics finished in the top 4. In the first round of play-offs Heretics faced BDS and rather ignominiously fell to the bottom net after a 0-2 defeat. Already in a match for life in the first round they played against SK Gaming where they won 2-1 and it was pretty tough. Next was a match with Fnatic, which ended 2-3 in favour of the Orange, and Heretics missed a chance to prove themselves at the Mid-Season Invitational 2024.
The Heretics made it to the LEC Summe 2024 Playoffs by a slim margin. They finished in 6th place with a score of 3-6.
The LEC Summer 2024 playoffs began with a very lacklustre loss against SK Gaming. Followed by a similarly lacklustre win against GiantX and a top-7 exit.
LEC Winter 2025 Long Sogpeggo started with a match against Rogue.

Sejuani (4 matches, 100% wins) and Wukong (3 matches, 66% wins) take the jungle.

We continue the breakdown of the match SK Gaming - Team Heretics with an analysis of the SK Gaming form. In this match SK will play in Underpassdog status with odds to win at around 1.9.
The main achievement of SK Gaming for the season before last was the debut winter LEC split. The team, being among the outsiders and previously ranked in the top 8 at LEC Spring and LEC Summer, managed to not only make it to the play-offs, but also put up a serious fight against MAD Lions in the match for the top 3.
What followed was much worse. At LEC Spring 2023 SK Gaming were not so confident. This time they managed to pass the regular season and bo1 matches, but not the group stage. SK fell in the top 7.

At LEC Summer 2023 SK Gaming almost repeated the spring result, with a slight improvement. They took the top 6, but thanks to the top 4 at LEC Winter 2023 they still made it to the regional finals.
However, SK Gaming's achievements ended at the LEC 2023 finals. There they played the only match against BDS and lost 0-3 without a chance.
SK Gaming passed the group stage of LEC Winter 2024 quite well. The team played the regular season with the score 5-4.
In the first round of play-offs SK Gaming met Vitality. After a disgusting season Vitality cameback, and so that they managed to reach the second round of the upper grid, and SK Gaming went to the lower grid. There, they faced Team Heretics in the first round and proved to be stronger, despite being nominal outsiders. However, SK Gaming's way out of the LEC Winter 2024 play-offs ended with a second round play-offs match against Fnatic.
LEC Spring 2024 play-offs were reached by chance and thanks to character. To get to the main stage they had to win a tiebreaker against Rogue. In the first match of the play-offs SK gave a good fight to Vitality, taking away their card, but unfortunately for them it didn't help them to win. Similar situation was in the match against Heretics, which led SK Gaming to the top 8.
SK Gaming finished the LEC Summer 2024 regular season in 1st place with a score of 8-1. At the Long Cognega play-offs LEC Summer 2024 defeated Heretics with a 2-0 win. Next was a match against Fnatic, where SK Gaming led 0-2. And in the next game they unexpectedly lost to Karmine Corp with the score 1-2.
At the LEC Regional Finals 2024, Long Sogpeg started from the bottom of the grid. They didn't get very far there, finishing in the top 6.
The opening match at LEC Winter 2025 for SK Gaming will be a match against GiantX.

The top SK Gaming picks were Gnar (2 games, 1 win), KSante (1 game, 0 wins), Camile (1 game, 1 win), Sion (1 game, 1 win), Renekton (1 game, 1 win).
Sejuani and Eliza are honoured in the forest. Both champions have appeared twice each and won both matches, but Vi and Kindred have lost their games.

In this match I expect a pretty even game, but I will favour SK Gaming. In my opinion, they will continue to gain in the new season and will be a serious competitor for any club.
