After getting demolished by Chelsea with 6:0, in their debut game, West Bromwich was able to recover and win the game at home against Sunderland with 1:0. A hard game followed with Liverpool, where West Bromwich lost with the minimal 0:1 and put up a fight.

Now after Liverpool, another hard game is ahead, with opponent, last year’s 4th place holder Tottenham. Tottenham who started well this year, against City with a draw where they dominated most of the time, and only luck deprived them from the 3 points. Followed a visit against Stock City, where the Spurs won with 1:2.

After demolishing Young Boys at home and qualifying for the groups of Champions League Tottenham met Wigan, a team that had 0 points and a goal difference 0-10. No only that they have managed to beat them last season on that very stadium with 9:1, but despite logic, the Spurs lost with 0:1. Now they would need a victory here in order to move up closer to the top teams.

However this will be extremely hard since West Brom have won three of their last four home games at Premier League level. They have also won last two Premier league meetings with Tottenham. The last time the Spurs won on this stadium was back in 2003 with 2:3.

Out of the 5 games both teams have played on this field in the Premiership , 4 have ended Under 2.5 Goals. In 3 of these games, both teams have scored at least a goal, and in 2 games West Brom have won with clean sheet.

Defoe will be out at least for six weeks, so Harry Redknapp will have to depend on Crouch, Keane and Pavlyuchenko. Robbie Keane has scored eight goals in six Premier League starts against West Brom.

What’s troublesome for West Brom is that the Baggies have scored just one goal in their last five matches at Premier League level.

The Betting Verdict?

Under 2.5 Goals @ 1.92 (Register at Betfair.com – 25£ Sign up Bonus): Although this game will be hard to predict and it can go in either direction, depending on the first 30-40 mins, I am hoping that statistics wont be wrong here. Both teams seem to play carefully against each other and score no more than 2 goals per match, 4 games in a row already.
