In the last game of the season West Ham, will meet Manchester City. The hammers lucky or not, were able to save themselves from getting in the red zone, and will play in Premiership next year as well.
The home record of 7 wins 4 draws and 7 losses played an important role for the staying above the red zone, compared to the 1 win and 6 draw games away. Zola’s contract is until 2013, but will he remain West Ham’s manager after the disappointing season we are about to see.
Ironically the same faith is awaiting Roberto Mancini. He has failed to mobilize the very expensive team of Manchester City, and although they did start winning after he came, the team wasn’t able to get the 4th spot and play in Champions League next year.
The away record of 6 wins 8 draws and 4 losses played them a bad joke, since those draw games turned out to be quite horrible, even worse than the few losses achieved away.
What to expect from this game?
As the last game of the season, both teams have their faith determined already and the game should go as walk in the park. I expect none of the teams to try as hard as they would have in the middle of the season. I am expecting most of the starters like Belamy, Tevez, Adebayor to get the deserved rest, before the World Cup finals.
Bottom line, a close game full of reserves and youngsters, not a lot of goal opportunities and even less goals.
Prediction: “Under 2.5 Goals” Odds: 2.26 Bookmaker: Betfair.com
