Euro 2012 Qualifications Predictions: England v Bulgaria 2010-09-03

Without doubt one of the more interesting games for Friday, where England will try to start the campaign for Euro 2012 with a win, against my homeland Bulgaria.

According to the press, this is the game with most placed bets so far, so be sure to join the rest of the community and visit Betfair.com pick from the highest odds around the internet, and get your 25£ bonus.

After the embarrassing loss with 1:4 in the World Cup 2010 against Germany, partially because of a referee’s mistake, England played a friendly against Hungary and won, after loosing with 0:1 until the 69th minute.

Injured played for England are: John Terry, Frank Lampard, Rio Ferdinand and Peter Crouch, still questionable is Bobby Zamora(thigh) and Defoe.

After forgetting few months ago, that Bulgaria is even in their group, Capello has spoken nicely about the team, before the game:

“Bulgaria are a dangerous team,” explained Capello. “I watched three games that they played: two before the World Cup and the last against Russia. They lost 1-0 but they played very well. It will be a tough game that we will play here at Wembley.”

Euro 2012 Qualifications Predictions: Belgium v Germany 2010-09-03

After finishing 3rd, Germany is up for a new challenge, to qualify for Euro 2012, and hopefully do better there. Meanwhile Belgium is probably one of the toughest opponents in this groups with the team of Turkey and Austria perhaps.

Both teams have met 23 times (even when Germany wasn’t united before 1989) and Belgium was able to win 4 draw 1 and lose 18 games. Oddly enough when these teams met for the first few times Belgium won all three friendly games, but it was a while ago in 1910, 1911 and 1913. Their 1954 triumph in Brussels remains their only victory since then, however.

Since they have passed over 14 matches, and Germany has always managed to win against the Belgiums. The team has a great potential, and now the trio René Adler, Heiko Westermann and Christian Träsch will return in play.

Belgium however has a huge problems with injured players: R. Standard de Liège midfielder Mehdi Carcela-González and his RSC Anderlecht counterpart Jonathan Legear; Brussels side’s goalkeeper Silvio Proto; Wolverhampton Wanderers FC defender Jelle Van Damme and Nicolas Lombaerts of FC Zenit St. Petersburg; Fulham FC forward Moussa Dembélé; KV Kortrijk goalkeeper Glenn Verbauwhede and KFC Germinal Beerschot Antwerpen midfielder Faris Haroun;

OB on the other hand had a game for Europa League, 4 days ago which might affect the teams endurance today, but hasn’t lost a game since August 8th.

Their home record isn’t impressive as well, consisting of 1 win, 1 draw and 1 loss, a loss which came from the currently first Copenhagen.

Atletico Madrid v Gijon Betting Preview 2010-08-30

Three days after Atletico Madrid won, the European Supercup against Inter, the team is about to play their first game in the Spanish Primera Division.

After Atletico’s main opponents from last season, got their first wins and took leading positions, it’s now time for them to do so. The only team that miserably failed last night was Real Madrid.

Atletico Madrid are unbeaten in their last 14 league matches against Sporting Gijon, winning 12 times and drawing only 2. Atletico have won their last seven league home games against Sporting Gijon, scoring at least two goals in each. However the question is, how tired are they from the game on Friday, and will they perform today on a top level.

Meanwhile, Sporting Gijon have lost their last three opening games of the season in La Liga. Seems like this season, will be quite hard not to get a 4th consecutive opening loss going against such team like Atletico Madrid.
